Hi Lisa, if you visit my site you'll learn that we share a common bond in fitness, sports performance and more notably heart rate training. I have been administering VO2 max tests for nearly two decades and have developed a pretty interesting approach to endurance training from my experience. Also visit www.mybestrace.com. I would love to do a link exchange with you and provide my insights upon request.

Cheers-

Hello Lisa,

I'm curious, which of the heart rate monitors would you recommend for serious distance training & racing? I have to say it's a bit difficult to follow some of the reviews listed, as it appears they were written in a different language and then translated by computer.

I saw a watch at a race that recorded heart rate along with distance and altitude and then could be downloaded on a computer for analysis. But I don't recall which brand it was.

As a tongue-in-cheek comment, you mentioned your father ran a marathon at the age of 45 as if that is old to be doing that. While his running a marathon is fantastic, and I hope he continued to run distance races, 45 is not considered old in the marathon world. :)

Thanks for your input on the HR watches.
